Christmas Donation 2011

As an alternative to sending Christmas Cards, Informed Financial Planning are continuing their tradition of contributing to a deserving cause instead.

This year we have selected Help Millie – which was set up for

a girl (aged 7) in Milton Keynes who has been diagnosed with the rare genetic disorder of Metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD). This affects the central nervous system with a decline in the ability to co-ordinate movement and a gradual loss of other faculties.

Although it is now unlikely that they will find any suitable treatment for Millie, the gratefully received donations are used to ensure that the family can contrate on her care and improve he

r quality of life. Donated funds have been spent on holidays for Millie, landscaping the garden to make wheelchair access easier and providing a substantial summerhouse which will soon be turned into a “sensory” room, as well as ongoing treats and visits. Millie is a beautiful little girl who has already been honoured with the 'Child of Courage' award from the people of Milton Keynes.

In addition to help others as well as Millie, the family and Millie's fund is also involved with the formation of a new national charity, 'MLD Foundation UK' which is aimed at providing help and support for other children and families affected by MLD.

I am sure you will agree that this is an excellent cause – especially at Christmas time – and one which IFP are pleased to support.
